It would appear there is a movie coming out about the animatronics engineer for Showbiz Pizza Place, the famous American restaurant chain that featured a “live” band made up of animatronic animals playing musical instruments and singing on stage, and is called Rock-afire Explosion. The restaurant often featured a ball pit, arcade and pinball games, ticket-generating games like skee-ball, and a person dressed up as an man-like animal that would go around and hug the kids and take pictures with them.
The store is often associated with Chuck E. Cheese’s (which I think bought them, or merged, or something) quite a few years ago. I worked there in the kitchen for two years and many of the products, although it is officially called Chuck E. Cheese’s nowadays, still had many product seals and condiment labels indicating the old Showbiz logo and words.
The movie (per a BB corrected article), looks to be moreso about the creator of the machines on stage than about the company, which is fine by me. I’d always wanted to know who did all that stuff, and the story behind it. I had great fun there, and it was my first job.
