For those unaware, Hasbro and Mattel have enacted litigation against the Facebook application Scrabulous. I’m not terribly certain whether it’s specifically regarding trademark or copyright issues, but certainly licensing of some variety must be the cause — whereas Has/Mat is apparently not getting any direct kickbacks other that absurdly awesome free advertising and the Scrabulous developers, aside from stating “This is not Scrabble” but linking to the Scrabble wiki page when listing the rules, foolishly didn’t bother to seek licensing issues in the first place. It is suggested that the current app user count is well over the hundreds of thousands. I’m worried they may undo my favorite game of the moment =/
